Much Better

As I write this blog I am sitting here (inside) wearing a long sleeve t-shirt and a sweatshirt!!  Our high today was 60 degrees and it has been spitting rain for the last hour or so.  Much better!!

Not much going on, cleaned up from the party—there wasn’t much to do as the gang helped a bunch before they all left.  We’ve had a whitetail deer and fawn hanging around today but I can’t get a photo, Mom scurries out of the way quickly taking Junior with her.

Besides preparing lunch I quilted all day—one more pass and I will be finished with Aunt Marg’s quilt.  We had homemade pizza for lunch—very good!!

As I’m sure you’ve seen on the news, the largest wildfire in the US is located in Montana southeast of Billings—I think the fire has consumed around 250,000 acres so far and is not under control.  Many people have been without power for days—the fire has destroyed transmission lines.  If you want to read something that will make your hair stand on end and break your heart, read this lady’s blog:  Go West Feral Woman.   Scroll down and read her account of barely getting out when the wildfire suddenly blew up around her home.  Our hearts and prayers go out to all those affected by these awful wildfires, may God grant us rain and lots of it!

IMG_3841Not even any good photos, just the anti-social dog!  But we love her anyway!

  1. That is so very sad. Now there's a tornado watch for southeast Montana. Our poor state. My heart goes out to all the people and animals who are suffering so badly with all the fires. Glad you guys are okay.

  3. I certainly hope that cooler weather blows this way soon. 105 today. Too hot, and I'm sick of air-conditioning~~

  5. Well, at least it's a little cooler where you are and I'll bet that bit of rain feels good too. I saw the fires on the news tonight, it looks just devastating.

  6. I'm so glad to hear about your cooler temps. That means the cooler weather will soon be here too. One more day of 100 or better and then it's supposed to cool off a little. Those fires are so scary. I think sometimes people really get surprised by how fast they move.
