Fabulous Dinner

Today started out at 6am hot and muggy—the wind felt as if it was coming off the desert in Arizona!  The day ended with being able to dine on the deck, me in a long sleeve shirt, Carolyn in a jacket!

Last night when we visited with Joe and Carolyn we encouraged them to stay another night and come have dinner with us tonight.  The campground was supposedly full—no 50amp hookups available—and since it was so hot, Joe felt he needed a 50amp so he could run both air conditioners.  Early this morning he went over to the office to see about the possibility and low and behold they had a spot—not the premium spot on the river they had but at least a spot.

Joe and Carolyn arrived a little after 4pm, we took a drive, came back and had happy hour on the deck—extremely pleasant.  It was so nice outside we decided to also have dinner out there.  First time we’ve been able to dine on the deck in a long time—our deck receives full sun all day generating oven like temperatures out there about 5pm.  We have an ongoing discussion about erecting some time of shade every year but have yet to take the plunge.

For dinner we enjoyed a beef tenderloin roast, corn on the cob, caprese  salad, and melon salad.  For dessert we had homemade vanilla ice cream topped with strawberries.  YUM to all!!

Joe and Carolyn headed for Big Timber with our “see ya down the road”  and “watch out for deer on the way back to town” .  We had a great evening getting to know these friends better and will look forward to the next time we get to spend time with them.

  2. Wish we could send you a little our wet weather from across the pond. I never turn a corner here that I don't wonder what Mike would think of the people and traffic around this place. I am sure he would be enthralled with it all.

  3. Today is really overcast and much cooler here in Helena. Hopefully some rain falls out of those clouds and no lightning. What a great sounding dinner.
