Where Does Time Go

Michael and I both said this morning, “I sure am glad your birthday weekend is over!!”  All that celebrating was exhausting!!!  But it sure was a lot of fun, too.

My goal today was to get another quilt on the frame—it was late this afternoon before that happened and it’s not totally loaded.  I just couldn’t get my gears going today.  I did some laundry and made bean burritos for lunch.  Emmi required a lot of ball playing too this morning.

Our friend Robyn had heard about the death of my horse Mr. Red.  Saturday night she asked if Michael’s horse needed a companion.  We had both been talking about that very thing—we hated to go off and leave Mr. Roan for the winter with no company.  Robyn had just the horse, he’s slightly lame, not ride-able and guess what his name is—Red.  She rolled up the driveway about 10am with Red in the trailer—a couple squeals later and all seemed to be well.  We’ve gone up and checked on them a few times—the two horses seem to be getting along just fine.IMG_2498

IMG_4664Isn’t that the prettiest sunflower—Nancy grew all the sunflowers in my birthday bouquet.

And that’s about it for our day here in Montana—Michael hauled dirt from our place to Geoff and Nancy’s for most of the day.

I did finally finish the book by Ayn Rand, Atlas Shrugged.  I don’t think I could have sat down and read the book—a little too deep for my reading enjoyment but I was able to get an audio version from our local library.  The book was very interesting—the parallels between the political climate then and our political climate now were intriguing to say the least!

  1. Oh what a kind thing to get another companion horse for Mr. Roan! And a horse that needs a place that is kind and good and comfort----- what a perfect match up!

  4. I struggled through the whole book. Parts were just to long and detailed, but it was sure a scary tale, especially in our current environment, where some would like to make success through hard work seem evil somehow:(

  5. I'm sure Mr Roan was very sad and lonely since Red's death. It will help him a lot to have a friend.....
