Early Mornings Late Nights

We’ve been industrious here at our quilt retreat but we took time out to go to what is becoming one of my all time favorite quilt shops, Birdseye Mercantile in Avon, MT—there is nothing in Avon, a restaurant and a quilt shop!!

Check out these prices Paulette—maybe you need a road trip to Montana!!

Back at the retreat house we all got to work—some folks had to make a run to the quilt shop in Deer Lodge—that’s the beauty of this particular retreat location, a really close grocery store and more importantly, a close quilt shop.

Here are a few photos of yesterday’s creations:

IMG_8609 Mary P.—she always has that smile on her face!!

IMG_8611Jeane’s bright, modern quilt—the colors grew on all of us.

IMG_8614Isn’t this just the sweetest little creation Gay made!!  Gay had sewing machine troubles yesterday, one of our members, Roxie lives about 35 miles from here and ran home to get another machine for Gay to use for the rest of the retreat—we quilters stick together!

IMG_8618Bette’s Christmas creation—I loved the border fabric on this quilt.

On to quilt—Jeane and I are doing breakfast this morning, our casseroles are in the refrigerator ready to stick in the oven, scones are warming—it’s gonna be a good one!  We haven’t starved to death in spite of the fact we are providing our own meals here.

I love quilt retreats!!

  1. Now, Janna, don't you be encouraging Paulette to visit any more faraway quilt shops, she can find those all on her own.

All those smiles really express the great time your are having. Enjoy the rest of your visit together.
