Night Owl

Yep, that’s what Michael is this week—a night owl.  He departed for work about 5:30pm tonight and will be back home around 6am.  He volunteered to work a week of nights—he thought it was his turn.  We will be OK—Emmi and I will spend lots of time in the quilt studio while he sleeps.

Rain this morning, wind, rain then sunshine and wind this afternoon—air conditioners running.  We were told the Corpus Christi area was windy but even the locals are saying, “enough all ready!”  It is March!

Have I said before how much I hate daylight savings time????  Just leave the clocks alone and let our bodies adjust as the seasons change.  This cold/allergy is kicking my butt and this time change stuff isn’t helping any!  It’s one of the many things I like about Arizona—that state thumbs its nose at daylight savings time and refuses to participate!!

The snowbirds are starting to leave our park heading for the north country.  My quilt shop hopping buddy Peggy and her husband Larry are leaving Tuesday for Wisconsin—we will miss them!  We got new neighbors across the street this afternoon.

No photos today and a short blog.  Hope you all had a good Sunday.

  1. We used to be that way in Indiana to the powers that be thought they knew better. Ilike the later evenings but don't like the change of clocks

  2. We share your feelings about changing the clocks. We should leave it alone. Hope you get through the flu/cold symptoms soon.

Night shift work for Mike will be quite the change of pace.

  3. having to change clocks most of my life, what that time comes for Joe and It'slike "you take the high road and I'll take the Low Road" He sets the clocks I can't reach and I set the ones I can.

  4. I'm so glad AZ doesn't change times but now I have to remember that Montana is an hour later than we are. Not sure I could work nights anymore.

  5. The big exodus north is happening or will happen soon in Lake Havasu. Love that we don't have to deal with day light savings time. Until we go back, then will have to adjust to two hrs difference.

  6. Yep. Arizona is definitely an independent state. I admire many of its predilections and sure wish we weren't TOTALLY politically correct in California. Yeesh.

Welll....there are some PC things here that are ok.

  7. I guess I'm in the minority, but I like daylight savings. At least I get some time outside with Emma after work when it will still be light out.

  8. I'm with Judy, I like DST. I really enjoy the extra hour of daylight in the evening. After day one of DST, I never even notice the change.

  9. I bet you can make good use of some quilting time while he rests!

    Howdy Janna & Mike,
My heart goes out to Michael, I've HAD to work shifts before(not voluntarily) and NEVER could get ANY rest!!!
How he gets any sleep in an RV park is a wonder!!! I think he must have known he'd have to sleep some in the daytime is why he worked so hard building your workshop!!! Sure am sorry you've been so sick, down on the coast... I can't stand the WET AIR, I don't have 'gills'!!! You'll be happy once you get back where the land rises straight up then 'rolls' down-then up and down!!! Hope you and Mike get to feeling more comfortable!! Be sure to give Emmi a hug and ear-scratch for us!!!
