Useless Comments

I write my blog because I enjoy writing my blog!  I have written daily in a journal for many years before blogging became popular.  I have friends and family who enjoy reading my blog.

Yes, I take the chance of drawing unwanted attention and comments when I publish something on the big, wide internet.  But it doesn’t mean I have to like it!  If you as a reader find something offensive on MY blog, do what I do when I find something offensive on any blog I may be reading, I DON’T read it anymore.

And by the way, spell checker does not pick up on words used incorrectly, only those which are spelled incorrectly.

  1. Jana, Love your blog just as you write it. Its a story of your prospective on life. I've never met you....only know you from your blog...and wouldn't miss your daily adventure.

We spent two weeks last year at Otter Springs....we loved it.

  2. I don't comment often on any blog that I follow, but it riles me when all people have to offer is criticism.
If someone does not fit my way of thinking or writing, I quit reading....Pretty simple solution...

I happen to like your way of writing and hope you continue....Thanks.

  5. Love reading your blog. Sounds like you have some commenters like those on the Escapees Forum -- the self-appointed spell- and grammar-checkers.

These kinds of folks should truly get a life...

I'm personally ashamed of myself because I haven't taken the time to set up my own blog yet! All the ones I read just reinforce my guilt!

  6. There always will be some inconsiderate people out there with no lives of their own, that have nothing better to do then try to destroy someone elses. Probably an anonymous commenter who goes from one blog to another doing the same thing to everyone. You can read major newspapers and magazines that have typoes and you don't have a staff going behind you for editting purposes.

Like others have said we enjoy reading of your travels and you are doing a great job, so keep up the good work because it is a lot of work doing blogs.

    It's about time.

  7. Really I read that comment last night Janna and I was thinking hmm I can't find anything wrong with this at all. What an ass and don't pay any attention to it.

If you don't have anything nice to say then don't say anting at all.

    Missing you guys.

  8. Thank you very much for calling out the butt head! I certainly didn't find an issue with anything, couldn't figure out what it was that was referred to. I enjoy your writing so much and although I follow many blogs about life on the road, I always get a thrill when I get to yours to read. Love hearing about your day, your travels, your life as you travel back and forth to home base and MOST ESPECIALLY - that little black love muffin you bring with you everywhere. Don't pay attention to snicketty people, some people criticize like they're getting paid for it!!

  9. I very much enjoy reading your blog. Really, if a word is misspelled or miss used, what's the big deal? We all make mistakes. I don't understand why complete strangers have to be so critical of another person's blog. After all, nobody is forcing them to read it.

  10. I love your blog. I love your style of writting. I will read it everyday. We all make mistakes and if a misspelled word gets someones dander up, well, go away! We all make mistakes. I look forward to your blog and will continue to do so.

  14. Proud to say in all my years of blogging, to the best of my knowledge, I have never left a rude or sarcastic comment on anyone's blog. May have thought it but never stooped to the level of personally belittling or attacking someone simply to stroke my own Ego. Anyway, just keep on keeping on & if you spell Kat wrong...so be it:))

  15. I also love your blog. It's not about grammar or spelling. For me, not being able to travel for now, it's about traveling and seeing places, people and things through your eyes. So thank you for taking time to do that for me. More than once during the evening, I'll read and show my husband the pictures and it puts smiles on his face to.

  17. Man!... I haven't had any comments on our blog about spelling or grammar. Either they haven't gotten to me yet, or when they read it they decide I'm beyond help!

Just keep doing your own thing! It's workin!

  18. I'm in agreement with all of the above comments. Sheesh. Some people have nothing else to do so they spread vitriol and criticism instead of smiles and hugs.

Anyway, I may be anonymous (no blog!) but I always sign my comments. Keep on keeping on. Lots of us like to read what you write!

  19. Don't let Aunt Janna fool you guys!! She was constantly on my case as a kid about not saying "ain't" and the proper use of seen vs saw. And don't think she's never said anything to me about using spell check!!! So the rude and negative comment makes me smile. But don't tell her that!!! I love you Aunt Janna -
