We left Summerdale, Alabama just after 9am this morning giving Jim and Ellie big hugs and some “see ya later down the road.” As Ellie said, “this visit was way too short.” They gave us something to remember them by—a large jar of their homemade salsa, YUM!
Driving through lots of small towns and a couple bigger ones—Panama City and Panama City Beach were just one big long red light—lots of stops. Once we left Panama City in our rear view mirror the roads became a lot less traveled and we began to see why this part of Florida is called the Forgotten Coast. Our destination today was the Ho Hum RV Park in Carrabella, Florida. We read Laurie and Odel’s rave review of this RV park out in the middle of nowhere and decided to make it one of our stops. Definitely a no frills kind of park but with ocean front property, who needs frills!
Emmi and I went for a walk on the beach while Michael hooked up our utilities. For dinner we had some awesome lasagna compliments of Ms Gina—it was so good!
Tomorrow we will finally reach our destination of Cedar Key, Florida—we are a LOOONG way from home!
