Cedar Key Florida

2789 miles and $1400 of fuel—we made it to Cedar Key today around 2pm.  I told Michael we better see everything we ever want to see in Florida on this trip—that’s a long way and a whole lot of money!

The park is gorgeous, the lots are huge, the folks in the office let us borrow their golf cart to pick a spot.  The original spot we reserved has some electrical issues.  This resort was built with the intent of selling RV lots—then the economy tanked.  It is currently in foreclosure and there are only seven out of 80 lots sold.  As you can see from the photos, not many lots are rented either.  Due to the foreclosure I think some things were misrepresented to us—we were told the pool was heated, it is not so the pool is not useable.  We were promised a particular lot but the electric issues to those rows have not been resolved (I made this reservation at least three months ago).  IMG_1601IMG_1603We chose a corner lot so we have a big “yard” and no neighbors on one side.  Once we were parked Michael started pulling out the lawn chairs and tables.  Once the sun started to go down he started washing the rig—I started cleaning on the inside.  By supper time we had a nice clean rig and jeep.

We stopped in Chiefland at the Wal Mart which is about 20 miles from this park.  It is one of the best stocked Wal Mart’s I’ve ever been in.  Even had my Greek yogurt in large containers.  IMG_1604

Emmi was excited to see her ball in one of the bays and we walked down to the back of the park where there are no rigs and played a game.  She was one little tired, panting dog!

I think we are going to like it here, tomorrow we will explore the big city of Cedar Key.
