New Year’s Eve

A short post before we are off for another gathering this morning!  Yesterday was a low key, laid back day in preparation for our big night out!  And a big night out it was.  But before the day started, I was inside the motorhome eating my yogurt and granola in preparation for the big “eat” when Gina knocks on the door and presents us with a huge plate of homemade beignets!!!!!  I guess the diet isn’t going to start for a few more days!  Rollie said since we weren’t taking the cowboy to New Orleans this time he would bring the cowboy some New Orleans.

Rollie and Michael spent the day smoking turkeys and pork on Rollie’s handy dandy smoker.  Gina and I took a quick trip to Hobby Lobby and the grocery store before returning home.  Gina spent the day in the kitchen preparing home cooked meals to freeze for Ashley and Parker to take home with them.  What a wonderful Mom and Mother-in-law those two have!

We did have time to have lunch out in the sunshine and have a couple swing breaks:IMG_1557IMG_1558

Last night Rollie and Gina treated us to dinner at Flemings—a very upscale, elegant steakhouse.  Mr. Clark even wore his hat! Ashley and Parker along with Dana and Ricky joined us.  The food was delicious but the company was superb!  It was a delight to spend New Year’s Eve with these wonderful friends.

After dinner we went back to Ricky and Dana’s—one house down from Gina and Rollie’s—for an after dinner glass of wine and to watch the fireworks from their front porch.  Their neighbors put on quite the show!

A special New Year’s Eve.

  5. I really loved the photo of Montana Mike in his hat in the shade of those southern trees. Wonderful. Happy New Year to both of you. I must say, Janna, with my meager attempts at quilting I have developed a great respect for what you do.
