A Glorious Day

While we waited for Ainslie and Beryl to arrive this morning Ellie and I took the three furry friends for a walk up the road. When we got back still no Ainslie and Beryl so Mike called him--seems as if Beryl is a little under the weather so they will stay in today.

The four of us read Al and Kelly's blog and Al has described some great places the two of them have seen lately--Palm Canyon and Castle Dome City. So, today we decided to do the garbage and water run then explore the area south of Quartzsite for potential camping spots putting us closer to these attractions. We had a great lunch at La Casa in Quartzsite then headed south finding a spot that would work. I thought it really comical that for two people who have never boondocked--when we got to a spot we thought would work Ellie said, "now let's get out of the car to make sure we can't hear the highway." I think we have hooked them on boondocking!

After our scoping run we headed back to release the doggies and get ready for happy hour and supper with Ainslie and Beryl--not! Poor Beryl is still under the weather and doesn't want to expose any of us so Ainslie came out and joined us for a beer and great catching up conversation before going back to fix Beryl's supper. Maybe tomorrow we can all get together. Jim, Ellie and we two enjoyed Super Bowl party leftovers tonight for dinner, YUM!

Mr. BoJangles has given up on his protector role figuring his sister Jasmine can handle Emmi all on her own--the two of them played and played tonight.

It was another absolutely beautiful day in the desert.
