Eighteen Years

Eighteen years ago today I walked into a restaurant, Walkers Grill, in Billings Montana and met the most wonderful man, Michael, on a blind date so to speak.  We spent three hours having dinner in a reservation only restaurant, talking and talking—I’m sure the restaurant staff were wondering when or if we were ever giving up that table.  Almost two months (yep, two months) to the day we were married.  While I wouldn’t say it has been totally bliss all along the way, it’s been pretty darn close to bliss.  You are the best Michael!

It was a quilting day—I looked at the lawn that needed mowing, the bathrooms which needed cleaning, the jelly which needed to be put away and said, “it will wait.”  and off to quilt I went.  Finished Shirley’s quilt and got friend Mary P.’s on the frame—what a stunning quilt—I’m a little paranoid, a large portion of the quilt is WHITE—I’m not letting my husband anywhere near the quilt studio while this one is on the frame!!

Tonight we spent a delightful time at Geoff and Nancy’s place.  Their friends Nels and Susan whom we’ve met before were there, visiting from California—it was good to see them again.  They showed us some stunning photos of a dive trip to Indonesia they took this spring.  Shine, the puppy labradoodle was in good form tonight—I love puppies, especially when they belong to someone else!!  (Sorry, Nancy!)

It was a warm, smoky day in Montana, the mountains were almost invisible!  I did manage to do some laundry and cook lunch today in between quilting.

And by the way, we were married in the home which Geoff and Nancy now own—it belonged to friends Jill and Terry at the time.

  3. Mike and I are both very lucky men, we met Ladies that appreciated us and made us feel important enough to make pleasing them a number one priority. Good Luck for many years to come. Plus we both get to walk off the dance floor with one of the prettiest Ladies in the house.Be safe out there Sam & Donna.
