We Sold It

Well, the little toyhauler rolled down the driveway at about 6pm tonight.  A young couple with 2 small children from Billings purchased it—we hope they get many years of enjoyment from camping!  We had lots and lots of calls about the RV, I think those small bumper pulls are a demand item.

Not much else going on around this household today.  We took a walk, had lunch, etc.  Michael did some paperwork and I tried to quilt.  The current quilt I have on the frame has me stumped for inspiration—maybe some inspiration will strike while I sleep tonight????

Remember this photo IMG_7793

taken not quite two weeks ago—well, the baby birds have grown and we now have a nest full of baby birds—three of them I think:IMG_0128

What kind of mattress do you all sleep on??  No, I’m not just being nosy about your sleeping habits, we have a terrible mattress that is probably not even three years old.  We both wake up with aches and pains, me especially.  I hate to go out and buy another one that will not be comfortable either!

  1. I am sleeping on my second sleep number mattress. It is great, especially if each of you like different types of mattresses.

  2. I forgot, get the heated mattress pad. And you can try it for 30 nights.

  3. Tempurpedic(sic). Had it about a year and a half. Wouldn't go back to any kind of innerspring mattress.

  4. We have a sleep number in the motorhome and I would give it around an 8 out of 10. It is true that you can each set the firmness on your side, but I would say the transition between the two halves is not seamless.

  5. A mattress is so subjective. It depends on how you sleep on it, and we had a sleep number mattress here in the RV and hated it. We just could not seem to find a number that we liked. Both of us were changing and changing our respective sides. Finally we both had the thing up to 100, as high as it would go. But then it was as hard as the driveway under the coach. Last year we purchased a memory foam mattress from a vendor in the flea market in Mesa Arizona. Ya a flea market mattress. It is firm but has a much better topper and first layer of foam than the sleep number. We got along for the rest of the winter on that one, but here lately we are beginning to complain again. That's why I said that mattresses are soooo subjective. It depends on my mooood. Good luck with your search!

  7. I don't have one, but the Tempur-Pedic mattress is supposed to be the best. My next door neighbor sold mattresses at a Healthy Back store, and that's what she said. Also, one of the TV doctors, Dr. Oz I think, just said that he got one, and would recommend that everyone get one. Best sleep he's ever had. But they are expensive. So that would be my recommendation. :)

  8. Mornin' Janna....we are in the market for a new mattress for the "Cabin". What kind of mattress do you have now? I don't want to buy one like it because I sure don't need any more aches and pains. :-) I'll be watching to see what your readers recommend. Did you get the email I sent about North Ranch? Hugs.....

  9. After terrible back pains from out coil spring mattress 5 yrs ago we bought a Sealy memory foam mattress.
After 2 days Neither my wife nor I have had any back problems. I wish the Tempurpedic pillows were holding up as good as the Sealy mattress. Just an opinion but we love our mattress. Hope to buy a motorhome this next year & it will get a memory foam mattress. Louisburg Larry

  10. I have one of the off-brand memory foam ones like the Tempurpedic & really like it. It's cured a number of aches and pains though I still wake up with a stiff back, but I think that's just me since I injured it about 17 years ago.

  11. Congrats on selling the toy hauler. I have no idea what kind of mattress we have so whatever it is it must be o.k. as I don't have any aches and pains from sleeping on it.

  12. Try the memory foam topper from Costco on your mattress. We take ours from home to the fifth and love it. Guess we could buy one for the fifth for about $250 but we are on a "fixed income" now.

  13. We to were having aches and pains from a not too old mattress. We purchased the blue, memory foam topper at costco and love it. They even have matching memory foam pillows. I hardly move at night finding I wake up in the same position. Love, Love it.

  14. We sleep on an RV edition Sleep Number. We both like it. When my back feels good, I like it a little softer and when my back acts up, I want the mattress to be very firm. I am almost always very comfortable on it, and when I'm not, I suspect I wouldn't be comfortable anywhere.
