Loving This Weather

While in Billings yesterday I said to the cowboy, “isn’t this weather wonderful…this is what July in Montana is supposed to be!”  The temps are not even getting up to 80 degrees—heavenly!  Every afternoon clouds roll in, it thunders and then sprinkles rain for a few minutes—not enough to make much of a difference in our moisture levels—but a little rain none the less.

Yesterday was a Billings run—haircut, groceries, etc.  While we were out and about Emmi spent the day with Nat and today he came to lunch—poor man’s steak, golden parmesan potatoes, Caesar salad and the very best homemade strawberry ice cream.  I could have eaten the whole container!

Michael is finishing up his dirt moving project behind the garage and after Nat left I headed to the quilt studio for some time on the longarm.  I finished a little quilt I am going to use for a tablecloth—I used flannel as the batting so the quilt would not be thick.  That’s three UFO’s I’ve quilted—I almost have the binding hand sewn on the largest of the three—I am on a roll getting those quilt tops of mine quilted.  And speaking of quilts—our friends Jeane and Steve have a daughter Jordan—Jordan’s daughter PJ just finished her second 4H quilt and I had the privilege of quilting it for her last week. PJ did an awesome job picking fabrics and making the quilt—I loved it and so did she!  PJ is 12 years old!

And that’s about it for today—thanks for stopping by!

  6. Your cooler temperatures sure made us envious. We have been battling a heat wave, out here on the west coast, but we finally got a break today. The temperature drop was a welcome relief.

  7. A couple hours of sun on the Oregon coast brought us up to 66 :-) I hope PJ sticks with it - she's got a great start, and must be so excited to see it finished after all her hard work.
