Fort Nelson To Pouce Coupe

UPDATE:  This is the first of two blogs I will post today, Tuesday, Sept. 2.

And let’s all together try to pronounce the name of the spot where we spent the night Saturday, August 30!!  “poo ce cou pay” thanks to John!

Saturday we left Fort Nelson and headed down the road, it’s amazing the people you meet along the way!  At one point construction brought us to a halt and we were informed it could be a 20-30 minute wait.  Off went the engines and everyone in the line began congregating outside their vehicles.

IMG_1257This couple along with their son and corgi, Maddie were heading home to Tennessee.  They had been stationed at Fairbanks, Alaska post Iraq for the young man.  He had served seven years in the military and had just received a medical discharge due to lung damage incurred in Iraq.  The time went by much more quickly talking to these young people.  Emmi and Maddie did not get along unfortunately!

Construction was the name of the game all day yesterday and today.  Plus Larry was exposed to Geri’s disease—flu, cold, whatever—and is now a whole lot under the weather.  Guess that happens when two people are living in a space the size of a dog house!!

Last night we stayed in Swan Lake Provincial park—quiet, dark but alas, British Columbia doesn’t feel the need to install wifi in their provincial parks, imagine that!  On the road early our first stop was in Grand Prairie at Costco.  Michael and I had visited this Costco once before about three years ago when we met up with John and Brenda

Sunday night we landed near Hinton, Alberta in the Bill Switzer Provincial Park.  I slaved all afternoon making homemade lasagna noodles and sauce—if you believe that I’ve got some ocean front property in Arizona to sell you!! Winking smileCostco provided dinner tonight and their fresh lasagna was delicious!  After dinner we all headed out for a walk—would you stay in this park??

  1. I'm not sure the WiFi would be any good even if they did put it in the parks. Boy is the internet slow up here. It is going to be a long three weeks.
