Not So Good A Day

Michael’s car ride yesterday didn’t agree with him and he has laid low today.  He sure would like to get to feeling better!  For some reason we slept in this morning and took a later walk.  Can you believe here on November 6, it was 70 degrees??

The Big Timber Women’s Club hosts an annual bazaar the first weekend in November every year.  I drove in to look things over, bought some cards but that was all.  Ran into Jill and her daughter-in-law—had chocolate sodas with them at Cinnabar Creek—yum!

I also attended Wyoma’s funeral today—a friend who died about a week ago in a horse accident.  The funeral was held at the school gym and even more room was needed.  Wyoma had a heart of gold and participated in many programs dedicated to helping troubled children.  She will be missed!

Just caught Emmi outside the yard fence snacking on horse poop—what is it with dogs?????

I’m fixing hamburgers on the grill for supper since it feels like a summer evening.

Don’t forget to change your clocks tonight!Mr Buck

Mr Buck2 We spotted this big boy on our walk this morning, we gave him the usual lecture about staying on our side of the fences if he didn’t want to get shot!

Is It November

Our walk this morning was after the sun came up but it also was a much warmer day than the last few.  Emmi had spotted a deer when I took this shot of Michael and her. Michael and EmmiEllie and Jim here is a photo of Emmi looking like a real schnauzerSeventeen months I didn’t want to cut off all her hair as it is supposed to be winter here in Montana but you wouldn’t have known it was November from today’s weather.  About 11am Michael came into the quilting studio and said, “it’s just too nice a day not to take a drive in the car with the top down.”

So off we went to Yellowstone Park of all places!  It was wonderful, absolutely NO people, we saw very few cars or tourist.  Mammoth Not a normal Mammoth Hot Springs scene, looks deserted doesn’t it??

Me I am the photo taker and rarely get my photo taken—Michael snapped me coming out of the visitor center at Mammoth.

We had a great day, Michael is very tired tonight but that is probably to be expected.  Our weather is headed for a change this weekend.

An Even Better Day

Michael had a really good day—I am so extremely glad my dear husband seems to be on the road to recovery!

As there was enough dust on the furniture to start a crop I decided cleaning was on the agenda this morning.  We walked early—may have to stop doing that, it sure was cold with no sunshine!

Michael decided to tackle another motorhome project—attaching our trucker antenna to the roof:Up On The Roof

Just after 1pm we got the phone call—JB and Brenda had made it across the border—yes, the US had let them enter once again.  They were about 40 miles from Big Timber so we hopped in the truck and drove to town to meet them for a late lunch.  It was just as it is with the other blogging RV people we have met—instant rapport, no conversation pauses, and lots of laughter.  We spent over 2 hours chatting and laughing before they headed east so Brenda could get her US Wal Mart fix.  We will see John and Brenda in the desert soon.

Ran a couple of errands one of which was to purchase more mouse traps—thanks a lot Karen and Steve, I think your mouse problem rubbed off on us—we discovered a partially destroyed roll of paper towels in one of our basement bays yesterday, GRRRR—Michael is waging war!

We drove out to Nat’s and spent some time visiting with him—he always enjoys getting to see Emmi and play “duck” with her.  And speaking of Emmi, she got a bath and a haircut today—she looks like a schnauzer instead of a little puppy.  When Michael got back in the truck after our lunch with John and Brenda, Emmi told him for several minutes how unhappy she was and was still telling him when I got in the truck down the street!

Early November Crazies

Spammers

Why can’t people just go on about their business without bugging other people??  I used to ask that same questions of my fellow nursing employees many days in the operating room, “why can’t you just come to work and do your job without stirring the pot all the time.”

I have had about eight comments from the same person lately—comments totally unrelated to my blog, comments totally unrelated to ANYTHING so thus I have to inconvenience the rest of my readers for one stupid spammer.  I have turned the comment moderation and word verification back on for a while and we will see if it goes away.

A Better Day

Michael got up this morning and told me when I asked how he felt, “I feel really good today.”  That is a good thing!

And he must have felt better as he decided today was the day to fix the door on the motorhome—Rollie, where were you??  The door to the motorhome has never fit correctly—there is a terrible wind noise when we are toodling down the road.  And, I guess this problem is common to Country Coach motorhomes.  The upper part of the door is angled and thus it is attached to a big nothing causing the door to flex.  So, off came the door this morning:RV door Isn’t that the grubbiest hat you have ever seen??  And late this afternoon the door is back ondoor and it fits tighter than it ever has—so success!  And I have one tired husband!

I quilted all day, a custom quilting job that is very time consuming but I am half way through the small quilt.  I made Gina’s taco soup for lunch and homemade bread.

The weather was so nice that Emmi spent a large portion of the day outside.

We took an early walk again this morning and the sky was just pink over the Crazy Mountains.

Just Hanging Around

We were both up early this morning and as a result took an early walk before sunrise—it was warm enough to do that this morning and I got some great photos.Sunrise on the West Boulder

Michael did a little bit of plumbing today, our master bath shower had been leaking a lot and the tub wasn’t draining well, now both are back to working normally.  But, it wiped Michael out—he is very tired and his wrists are bothering him—we are both starting to think, “will this never end?”

I ripped out about six feet of quilting today—why can’t I decide I don’t like a design in six inches instead of six feet???  Ellie called and we discussed fabric and borders for her quilt.

My sister called and as we had not talked since last week, our conversation was long—our family is very close and we all talk to each other at least weekly if not more often—it’s a good thing!

And, a dear friend Elaine from my Kimberly-Clark working days called this afternoon and we had a nice long chat.  Elaine and her husband Mark live in Florida and Elaine still works as a nurse.

And that’s it for another day in the Clark household.

A Day At Home

Nothing very exciting going on around here—about the most excitement we had today was I ran vinegar through the coffee maker trying to force it to make coffee a little faster!  Made the kitchen smell kind of nasty for a while.

I made some phone calls, did the laundry and unpacked everything from the weekend.  Before I left I had loaded a quilt onto the longarm and this afternoon I got some of the border done.

Emmi is very glad her Mom is home, she is just the sweetest little dog.  Michael didn’t gain much today, we were both thinking back over what the surgeon told us when leaving the hospital—“you won’t feel the greatest for at least a month.”  And his surgery was only a week ago.

We did take two nice walks today, our weather is still awfully nice for the first of November.

JB and Brenda are heading our way toward the end of the week and we hope to meet up with them for coffee/lunch/dinner, something!  Sure wish we were heading south in this nice traveling weather.
