It’s been snowing in Montana but the weather couldn’t be more perfect here at North Ranch. Where else can you comfortably sit outside at 8pm in short pants and flip flops? The temperature never even reached 80 degrees today—perfect!!
Yesterday afternoon we gathered at Larry and Geri’s with many of our RVing and ATVing friends for an Easter dinner. The cowboy and I provided a Costco spiral cut ham and everyone else brought delicious side dishes. I tried my hand at baking a fresh strawberry cake—that recipe is a definite keeper! We enjoyed a special evening of dining, conversation and of all things—a game.
As you can see the game is called, Baggo. There was another game board about 25 feet from the one you see in the photo. The object is to throw a bean bag into the hole, you also score points for landing on the board. Larry is holding onto Geri’s sleeve I do believe trying to limit her throw—he is such a prankster!!
We are truly blessed to have this wonderful, caring, fun loving group of friends!
Today being Monday is laundry day and Michael deemed it “change the oil in the ATVs” day. Our mail arrived from Montana and it took us a while to sort through a one month collection. Sometime around Christmas I ordered something which has generated a million and one (not really that many but you get the picture!) stupid catalogs—junk catalogs which I have absolutely no desire to receive. I need to update our mailing preferences—several years ago I completed the paperwork to severely limit the amount of advertising mail we receive and it worked up until now. Back to the drawing board! I also sent each catalog company an email asking to be removed from their mailing lists—what a pain!
This afternoon Geri and I attended the monthly meeting of North Ranch lot owners. Our consensus after the meeting—board members desire gold medals and a big salary!! These positions are voluntary and those guys caught some major (uncalled for) grief!
So, that’s it for our Monday—thanks for stopping by!
Hey Janna... If you have a smart phone, there's an app for that! It's called Paper Karma in the interest of saving a tree or two. It's not as great as promised on the app info, but it does help on cutting down unwanted mail!!! Plus it's free!

Desire or deserve?
ReplyDeleteMost definitely should have been deserve but then again they probably do "desire" after listening to some of the members rant!!
DeleteI have had some luck with opting out of catalogs using the free site "Catalog Choice," https://www.catalogchoice.org/ Once in a while, I'll go back to the site and add new catalogs to ban from my mail.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a lovely holiday gathering - and a fun game to burn off some of that cake! We have thinned out our mail so much now we have told our friends who will be our "address" for the first year they're going to be very unimpressed with our "popularity". Since the plan is to scan anything we need to see, I doubt we'll get any mail at all. It's a lovely thought :-)
