The hull for the Jack St. Malo rig left Korea headed for Ingleside, TX sometime in February. It’s been sitting off out there waiting for the weather to cooperate—seems wind isn’t a good thing when you are trying to move something this big and big does not even begin to describe this hulk!!!
Our first glimpse, this is a six to eight story condominium complex and the hull towers over it.
You can see the two helicopter pads on top in this photo, notice how the rig dwarfs the tugs?
That is one of the car ferries passing just behind the rig—dwarfs it too!
Mom, Emmi and I left here about 5:30am—no one was really sure exactly what time the ship and hull would enter the ship channel and we didn’t want to miss it. On the way out, we took some photos of the Olympus hull out at the shipyards:

It was the most beautiful day today, one of the best we have had. That’s all the excitement around here. I am cooking dinner for the gang, Rollie, Chuck and Mom.
