On Friday night when we parked in Sweetwater, TX I wrote, “we don’t need power or water.” Well, when we woke to about 35 degrees, wind and rain outside and 49 degrees inside—both of us were thinking an electric heater or two would have been nice! As it was so cold both inside and out we just fired up the old Country Coach and hit the road letting the Hydro-Hot heat warm us. We did run into some snow flurries along the way but the roadway was only wet, no snow accumulation.
About 3pm Saturday we landed back at the Escapee’s park in Lakewood, NM—our trailer and ATVs were still there in storage. It was nasty, damp and cold--a batch of taco soup seemed like the thing to have for dinner.
Still cold this morning but at least it was sunny—I did have to scrape frost off the jeep before we loaded it into the trailer and hit the road. We drove from Lakewood, NM to Tucson, AZ, arriving at the Pima County Fairgrounds a little after 5pm—490 miles. Our travels took us through--
and busy El Paso, TX. The snow which fell in this area on Saturday was beautiful in the sunshine.
We are all tucked in for the night and hopefully we will reach our destination tomorrow—I’m ready to sit in one spot for a while!
All I can say is BRRR!!!
ReplyDeleteI love your photos of the snowy Guadalupe Mountains.
ReplyDeleteTo cold for us, burr!
ReplyDeleteNope, we don't like that cold stuff either.
ReplyDeleteThe scenery is beautiful Janna, what a lovely drive. I know you'll be so happy to get yourself parked and settled in one warm spot for a lengthy stay!
ReplyDeleteWell...you will get here in time for rain on Wednesday; 29 degree Wednesday night; and possible snow on New Year's. Did you read my post? I said "Bring warm weather." :-)
ReplyDeleteThose snow photos looked nice especially from a safe distance. Hope you make it to your destination and get warmed up some!
