Friday In The Desert

With sadness we watched our friends Gina and Rollie drive away this morning—but they will be back in a couple weeks.  Their son Thomas deploys to Afghanistan soon and Gina and Rollie were going to make sure they were there to send him off with hugs and prayers.

Michael and I walked around the mountain today, a round trip of over 6 miles.  We both have done well on the diet today, too.  Deb and Rod hosted dinner at their rig tonight feeding us salmon they caught in Alaska this past summer.  Deb also made rice that was the best rice I have ever eaten—she puts lime zest in the rice as well as cilantro and some other ingredient I have forgotten.  JoAnn made a Weight Watcher friendly key lime pie that was really good and fruit salad.  Jo brought some more of the great quinoa salad and the rest of us provided appetizers.

I spent a couple hours today trying to print photos with our older printer and let’s just say the printer almost met up with an unfortunate accident!  Michael spent the afternoon on the back side of the mountain painting.

Emmi slept and that’s the extent of our day, a good one!

IMG_5830 I think Deb was jealous that Ellie’s cocktail napkins made it to the blog so she brought out her versions—I only got a photo of this one.

  1. Must be the day for computer, or in your case, printer, frustration. It's great when they work but heck when they don't. But where would we be without our technology!!

  3. Even on diets, you guys seem to eat better than the average RV'ers!! Salmon and Key Lime Pie - not too shabby!
