JoAnn and Doug who arrived yesterday and Jo and Fred with BooBoo who arrived today. We met JoAnn and Doug several years ago while staying in a RV park in Tucson at the same time we met Ellie and Jim. Today was the first time for meeting Jo and Fred.
Ellie and Jim offered to host the usual “travel day” dinner and Jim was in his element. He made a peach cobbler in the dutch oven; he grilled burgers and brats—Ellie provided the burger trimmings and potato salad. I provided Boulder River Ranch salad and poppy seed dressing, Gina fixed broccoli with cheese sauce, Jo, she broke the rules but said she made the salad yesterday so it didn’t count as cooking on her travel day, made a quinoa salad that was delicious; JoAnn made chocolate walnut pie and brownies! I managed to stay within my Weight Watcher points today but Ellie’s cocktail napkins do have a valid question:
Dinner was absolutely wonderful! Thank you Ellie and Jim!
Michael and I took a long hike this morning and Emmi got a much needed bath when we got back—I even trimmed her hair a little.
Rollie and Gina are leaving us tomorrow heading for California to see their son and his wife—we miss them all ready but they will be back in a couple of weeks. Jim’s peach cobbler
Can't imagine a better place to be than your little encampment! Too bad we are stuck here in Phoenix! But we had a great day today...
