A Clean Desert

We woke to sunshine today, a little cool and later in the day some clouds but not near as cold as our intended destination was to have been on Tuesday.  As we checked the weather reports for the Tombstone/Pearce/Bisbee area of Arizona this morning we saw that the day time temperatures were in the 50’s and low 60’s, there was even one day where snow showers were predicted.  The night time temps were below freezing every night—not somewhere we decided we wanted to be right now so once again we changed our plans—that’s OK, we are retired aren’t we??

A long, long walk to look at all the washes—water ran in all of the ones we have hiked through and water did run over the waterfalls we found a couple of days ago.  This isn’t the best photo but you can see the pool of water at the base of the waterfall.    After the rain

The desert looks so clean and fresh today and Ellie and Gina found a blooming prickly pear cactus.

Ellie and I made a run to Parker after lunch to pick up her new router that had been delivered to the home of friends Dottie and Curt.  We stopped by the Safeway for essentials—water for us, beer for Jim.

I did get some sewing done today—I am putting together a Christmas wall hanging I started before leaving Montana.  Ellie made a “clean out the refrigerator” soup today—really it was a wonderful chicken soup with lots of veggies.  We had that soup along with the leftover chili and a fresh pan of cornbread for supper.

Everyone in our little group has decided that this is just the right place to be at this time!

Sunrise  Sunrise this morning, isn’t it glorious?

All wrapped upOne spoiled little dog who got Mike up at 4am this morning!
