We neither slept much last night—lots and lots of traffic noise—but boy did we ever hit the campground jackpot today! Two level side by side spots with power, one even a covered spot, free wifi and the owner of the campground is even cooking us dinner!!! The guys spent the afternoon sitting by the “pool!”
Seriously this beautiful spot just outside of downtown Salmon Arm belongs to Roger and Lynn, ATVing friends of Larry and Geri. We rolled in just after lunch and have whiled away the afternoon talking and getting to know these great folks—I bet we sleep incredibly well tonight. Their backyard is a huge cornfield and the front and side yards are hayfields, very, very quiet but less than a quarter mile from downtown Salmon Arm.
The drive over here from Golden was spectacular through Revelstoke and Glacier National Park. Not much photo taking as we’ve all been to these spots in the past. We did pass through lots of these avalanche tunnels (forgive the dirty windshield!).
Emmi is totally happy—lots of green grass for ball chasing!!
Thanks so much Lynn and Roger for allowing us to hang out in your driveway!
Oh, yes, jackpot it is!! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteSalmon Arm brings back memories for me. In the early 70's I lived in Vernon just a short distance away. Had always hoped to return to the Okanagan Valley one day but....... I left in January of 75 & people have told me I wouldn't recognise Vernon any more. The big Boom swept through the Valley just after I left. Owned a small piece of property on the west side of Okanagan Lake but that's another story. Give Vernon a big Howdy wave for me if you go that way & continue to have yourselves a great trip. And Hi to Geri & Larry as well:))
ReplyDeleteClearly a good spot for friendship and a quiet overnight. Beautiful area....
ReplyDeleteOh yes, what a lovely spot! Beautiful huge kitchen - try to forget it when you're making dinners in the camper :-).
ReplyDeleteEmmi looks like she's waiting for the shade to reach the ball before going to get it - smart girl.
Just catching up on blogs and reading. Congrats on the new great-granddaugher, she is absolutely beautiful.
ReplyDeleteAnd, welcome to B.C. We love the Salmon Arm area, it's a very quiet beautiful place.
Nice camp! Congrats on the new addition to your family. Looking forward to those Alaska pics!
