Same old thing every day—we take a hike in the morning, I play with Emmi, Michael heads off to putter, hammer, build, saw something somewhere and I head to the quilting studio. We meet back up at lunch time where we enjoy something delicious I’ve cooked—today it was ribs, oven fries and coleslaw. Then it’s back off to our respective crafts. Late in the afternoon Emmi will come to find me—“let’s go for a walk Mom, let’s go find Dad and take him something to drink.” We will hike up the hill again, take the cowboy a diet coke or hot chocolate depending on the weather, sit with him a while then hike some more. A little before 6pm Michael shows up at the house and I start trying to figure out what to feed us—something lighter than lunch—tonight it is leftover chicken and wild rice soup.
Is our life boring—we don’t think so, it brings us much happiness, peace and enjoyment. We seldom go out—our trips to Billings count as going out I guess but otherwise it doesn’t happen. I resent events which break our peace. I look back on my previous life and there was much to break the peace—I am so thankful we have this boring, calm, happy life and I chose to keep it that way.
I'd never be one to say your life is boring, Janna. I think peaceful and content is a much better description (except for some bloggers who leave annoying comments, of course).
ReplyDeleteYour days compare pretty well with what Paulette and I do on an average day at home - she quilts, I'm doing my stuff, we walk the dogs in the afternoon and another day goes by. It's a pretty good life!
nothing wrong with your life, Janna! do what you love with who you love..that's all any of us need!!
ReplyDeletethere are many people who would "kill" to have your life. When i see where you live, the mountains, the peacefullness of it all, i'm envious. Boring?...i don't think so.
ReplyDeleteEnjoying your blog
Some people need the adrenaline rush a big city and its frenetic activity gives them, but not ME, and the 'blogs I read echo what I see other people also feel. You have an idyllic life and lifestyle. It's a pleasure to read about it.
ReplyDeleteI hear you loud and clear. We're boring too!!!
ReplyDeleteYou have chosen the right way of life. You live in a beautiful area and you have interests which keep you busy. Itæs all we can ask for. Really! Beautiful pictures again. The sunrise looks like you are having a wildfire. Amazing!
ReplyDeleteAll the above comments echo my thoughts on your lifestyle. There is nothing wrong with routine, peacefulness, and mountain vistas. We know many friends who could not live that lifestyle. Given Michael's equipment - and my love for golf - I would build a private golf course for myself and friends. Just thinking out loud!!! LOL
ReplyDeleteSounds WONDERFUL to me!!!
ReplyDeleteP
Sounds like a pretty good life!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful sunrise:)
Life is never borking as long as you are enjoying it.
ReplyDeleteIt seems to me that it only matters what you and the Cowboy think of your life.
ReplyDeletePeaceful??? Everyday your walks are filled with mountains, trees, streams and yes bear tracks that constantly are yelling, "Look at me, Look at me." Looks pretty hectic to me :)
