Quilt Retreat

This is going to be a quick post—I’ve got quilts to make! Smile  Thursday morning at a VERY early hour Shirley and I headed to town, picking up Jeane—it was touch and go as to whether the quilting paraphernalia of three women would fit in the Cadillac—it was tight but we made it.  I am sure the husbands were hoping it would limit our buying but there is always room for ONE more bag!!

The retreat spot in Deer Lodge, MT is just about perfect—the sewing/ironing/cutting area could be a touch larger, with eleven women we are a tight squeeze but the sleeping/bathroom accommodations are perfect!!  A bathroom containing a sink/toilet/shower between each two bedrooms—each bedroom has two twin beds and another sink.  Well thought out!

We have all been a sewing and a sewing, some later last night than others.  Here are a few photos--

IMG_8605Roxie was busy, busy yesterday—isn’t this diaper holder just the cutest!!!

We are having a ball—Mary and Donna prepared an excellent meal last night and the smells coming out of the kitchen this morning make me think Bette and Janet are cooking up another excellent meal for breakfast this morning.

A trip to Avon is in order today I think—a fabulous little quilt shop in the middle of nowhere Montana which sells Moda type fabric for $8.50 per yard!!!  We made need to rent a trailer!! Smile

  4. What an interesting post.... my Mother made quilts, and my daughter does as well. Guess it skipped me... but those quilted "accessories" could make me want to try my hand at it.
