Round and Round and Round

That’s what Michael did all day today—he went round and round in the swather and managed to get all the hay cut on our place, the neighbor’s place and on the ranch we previously owned.  Granted the hay on the two pieces of ground not belonging to us isn’t the greatest grass but it will provide the horses “something better than a snow bank to eat” this winter!IMG_7372Hey, don’t you like our East Boulder mud???

Let’s see, what did I do today—chased after Michael delivering him hither and yon, went to yoga, made lunch and then Ellie and I drove into Big Timber.  Ellie got to experience a little bit of “small town” living.  We went to the bank where I was called by name and when I asked Roxie how long they would hold the check I had written from Wells Fargo to our local bank she said, “oh, I won’t hold it at all.”  I love living in a small town.

And I love dealing with our small town bank.  Wells Fargo on the other hand, not so much!  I was going to electronically transfer the money from Wells Fargo to our local bank when I found out I could only transfer a specific amount in a 30 day period.  Excuse me but isn’t this my money????  So, I just wrote a check for the amount I wanted to transfer—done—take that Wells Fargo!

We met up with Jill and enjoyed chocolate shakes at Cinnabar Creek.  We then ran a few more unexciting errands.

Back home we all enjoyed happy hour on the deck.  The day started out very warm but this afternoon the clouds began to build, the wind came up and it is very pleasant outside.

  1. Small town banks, and post offices are the best. They look out for their customers.

  2. It's been quite a while since I've dealt with a real person at a bank. It's either Internet banking or an ATM for me.

  3. There is definitely something to be said about small town business.
