We took another hot walk (we need to get going earlier in the morning) out to the pecan orchard. Pecan growing is big business here in this area, acres of pecan trees and today we saw a semi load of pecans!
Yesterday I had made beef stew in my pressure cooker and that’s what we had for lunch, it was so good! After lunch we decided to take a drive and look at property. Found a place we both really, really like but as always, the price??!!!!
Came home, had tacos for early dinner then unloaded the RV refrigerator so it could start defrosting—judging by the chunks of ice falling out I should have defrosted sooner!
Sat out on the porch again to watch the birds, had a yard full of Scaled Quail—had to get the book out for that one Judy! Last night we had a bunch of Gambel’s Quail. I’ll have to try and get a photo of one of the Scaled Quail, they have whitish top knots instead of black.
We thought these guys were female cardinals until looking in the bird book—he is a Pyrrhuloxia and there are bunches of them hanging around the feeders.
It has been unseasonably warm here in Arizona but is supposed to cool down again to normal temps by the weekend, yea!
I would have thought you would be making a 'pecan pie'!!!...with that semi-load of nuts!!!
ReplyDeleteThe Pyrrhuloxia is a first for me! I so look forward to getting out the binoculars and identifying birds. Nice pictures.
ReplyDeleteMy hope is to turn all RVers into bird nerds! You are well on your way! :)
ReplyDeleteYep, know what you mean by...the price!! We also have the added big problem of me being Canadian & that really complicates things for us regarding health insc etc. We thought that simple little Lazy W & it's remote location was just perfect for us, but....the price!! If you come across something small for $1.89 let us know:))
ReplyDeleteBeef stew for lunch and tacos for dinner - awesome!
