Happy Easter

Easter Sunday dawned with sunshine, cold but sunshine.  We took a walk down the driveway and back before deciding the wind was just a might too chilly.

Then it was off to Red Lodge to meet Rich and Jane for lunch/brunch.  The drive over was wonderful, sunny, scenic and fast as we took the little convertible and I drove!  We met at the Bridge Creek Backdoor Kitchen and Wine Bar—whew—what a name!  Jane and I decided we were confused as to whether we were having breakfast or lunch—eggs, pancakes, prime rib, potatoes, salads and wonderful desserts—we tried it all and then tried some more.  Our waitress was no help, she would come by pick up our empty plates and say, “you’ve only been back twice, aren’t you going to try something else?”

We always enjoy visiting with Jane and Rich—they are friends of mine and now Michael’s who I met while living in Powell, WY.  They lost a child, Jonathan (20 years old) in 2002 to a drunk driving accident.  He was the most awesome kid—he played the saxophone and any other instrument he set his mind to, he was a great baseball player—he was going to music school in Denver when he got into a car with the wrong person one night.  I never wanted to have children and have a difficult time dealing with unruly kids, Jane and Rich’s kids were always (usually) a pleasure to be around and we had some wonderful times together.  Their daughter Elizabeth married a wonderful young man 3 years ago, a Navy pilot, and they live in Virginia Beach.  Rich is nearing retirement and Jane and I are plotting camping trips in his future!

A stop in Big Timber to visit with Nat and pick up Emmi and then home.  Hope all our friends and family had a wonderful Easter.

Winter time sun A recycled photo—too busy driving today to take photos I guess.
