Girls Day Out

A snowy, muddy, wet walk this morning—yes, today is the first day of April and we got a lot more snow.  The ground is not frozen and it isn’t very cold so some melts as fast as it falls but there is still a lot!!!

I headed into town for a girl’s day out today—lunch and a little shopping with my friends Jill and Jeane.  When I got to town and parked across the street from the newest resturant in town, the ambulance was parked in front of the eye doctor’s office.  Well, Jill couldn’t join us because it was her Mom that was being taken to the hospital—seems she didn’t like having her eyes examined!  She is fine tonight and grumpy cause she wanted to go home and finish decorating her Easter cookies.

Jeane and I had a great lunch at the new little bakery/resturant that has wonderful baked goods, homemade breads and a quiche that was so good.  Then we wandered into the quilt store and said hello to everyone, browsing the beautiful new spring fabrics.  On to Cinnabar Creek where Jeane couldn’t resist the little stuffed animal ducklings for her granddaughters.  It was good to see everyone after the winter!

We then caught up with Jill and sat with her in her office while she ate her lunch, Mom is OK but Jill is stressed!  Her son Fritz and his wife Amy are moving to Mineapolis she thought on Monday.  But, the movers showed up today and they are leaving Saturday—no Easter lunch, just soon!  Fritz recently completed his master’s degree and got a job in Minneapolis.  These kids wanted to experience big city life and we wish them both the best!

I had been thinking of Easter cookies all the way home and decided to make some, got the ingredients all out and realized I didn’t have enough butter for cookies and icing.  So, neighbor Nancy to the rescue—I needed to go to her house anyway to pick up some warming pads she is loaning me for sprouting seeds and borrowed some butter while I was there.  And, thanks Nancy for the sunflower seeds, too—I hope it works!

Easter cookies all made and getting ready to call it a night.  We have an early morning—have to be in Billings at 9am!!!
