For quite a while Michael has had a sore elbow which would swell from time to time. We decided to see an orthopedic surgeon today—he has a simple case of bursitis, painful and annoying but it will go away. Emmi spent the day with Nat while we visited the doctor and did major Costco and Wal Mart runs.
We had about an inch of new snow again this morning and it was so incredibly windy all day. On the way home from Billings the wind was blowing us and the semi-trucks all over the road.
Remember these new glasses I got at the Glendale, AZ Costco store:
The first time I wore the glasses in the Costco store I knew something was wrong with them—I felt as if I had to tilt my head sideways to see—the technicians told me to wear the glasses for a while. Once home I realized I couldn’t see the fine print on various items and I could not read the computer screen clearly with the computer in the same position I always have it. Next time we were in Glendale I took the glasses back and was given the brush off by the Costco eye technicians who told me the adjustment to the fit of the glasses would correct the issues I was having—NOT! Still couldn’t see and glasses, even Costco glasses, are not cheap.
I knew something was wrong as the glasses were made from the same exact prescription used in my current glasses and I see very well with these. So, today I took the glasses to our local Costco store and the technicians there could see something definitely wrong—the distance between my pupils was way off and the line where the bifocal starts was also off. Costco is re-making the glasses and I should have them in a week or two—whenever we go back to Billings. Yea for Costco customer service!
Back home we retrieved Emmi, drove up the Boulder and unloaded the car. Tomorrow I think we get to stay home—yea!!
Is that anything like tennis elbow? I had that once, and the exercises they gave me with a broom handle worked like a charm. :)
ReplyDeleteGlad you got your glasses taken care of...someone knew you weren't crazy:)
ReplyDeleteCostco can be great when it comes to returns and complaints! I once returned a half eaten chicken pot pie..and we had a friend complain about a dog treat that made there dog so sick..a $1500 vet bill from these treats..the company that made the treats re-imbursed him the whole amount..and it was Costco who told him to write a letter to complain!
ReplyDeleteIt's getting really warm down here but I'm sure not ready for Montana weather yet. We've had good luck with returns at Costco but I think you ought to write a letter to the one in Glendale. They need to work with that technician - maybe he needs more training but he definitely needs better meet-and-greet skills.
ReplyDeleteWe switched from Sam's Club to Costco fairly recently. We love Costco. Don't know why we waited so long. And bursitis is no fun! I suffered from it quite often during my last few years of full time work, but only once in a great while now. Hoping he feels much better soon. I think Alfafa supplement pills and Alfalfa tea helps a lot, and I know it helps ease arthritis pain, too. - Mary Ann
ReplyDeleteThat is great to know about the Alfalfa pills and tea.... I like Costco too and the have always been great to deal with regarding returns.... The frames look good on you, Janna !!!
ReplyDeleteWe always hear so many great things about Costco. Wished we had one close to us. I've only ever been in a Costco once & I did like it. I remember everything seemed so big.
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing more frustrating than glasses that are not right!! So glad that Costco finally fixed the problem. Too bad they didn't recognize their mistake the first time.
ReplyDeleteOne person's tennis-elbow is another person's atv-shovel-ladder-elbow :-). Glad you gave Costco another chance to make it right - and that you'll be able to wear your cool new frames! This is one crazy Spring for sure - snowed in SoCal on Saturday night and today it will be in the 90's in the same area. Enjoy your time at home.
ReplyDeleteI've always found Costco to be excellent whenever I've had to return anything. There's nothing worse than glasses that are "off"!
ReplyDeleteNice comment on Costco. We feel as you do with regards to customer service. My last eye glass prescription was from Costco - about ten months back - and the service and quality of the glasses was first class.
