Not really, Michael and Emmi were taking the motorhome down our steep driveway to the lower shed before the next storm hits tonight. Look how clean that motorhome is—that won’t last long traveling this time of year!
Michael and I went into town this morning, had lunch at Iron Star Pizza and bought some groceries. Our little grocery store, an IGA, leaves much to be desired—one day they are out of bread, the next day they are out of milk. Today it was capers—they don’t carry them anymore—WHY???? I’ve been in grocery stores in towns much smaller than Big Timber with an awesome product selection—why is our grocery store the way it is?? The owners are a young couple and have no interest at all in hearing customer suggestions. Oh, well—it’s not that much farther to Livingston, now is it??
We spent the afternoon puttering with various projects—Michael is repairing the tow lights on the jeep—we lost one when I hit Julia’s car at yoga and lost the other one when we turned the jeep over in the ditch. The actual jeep tail lights are encased in a steel cage so they were fine, these tow lights sit on the bumper and took the brunt of our little oop-sies!! I started putting together a wool project for keeping my hands busy while we head down the road shortly after Christmas.
The moon going down this morning.
I went to bed last night thinking I might be getting a sore throat—woke up this morning with a sore throat and feeling mighty icky! What’s up with that—I don’t have time for a cold—way too much to do!!! I whipped up a batch of chicken noodle soup for dinner tonight hoping it would make me feel better—maybe a good nights’ sleep will do me good too.
Hope you're feeling better...and soon!! :o((
ReplyDeleteMe too, Janna!
DeleteYou haven't said much about the poor little Jeeps and if he will be repaired in time to go with you....
ReplyDeleteRod--the only injuries the little jeep suffered were the broken lights we use when towing behind the motorhome and it cracked one plastic fender flare--that's it!! Tough little things these jeeps are--we turn it over in a ditch and it breaks a tail light and one plastic piece! Mike ordered four new fender flares from Amazon (ours were really a faded gray, he ordered new black ones), and has them installed--yellow jeep is good as new!
DeleteI really like that moon picture. Hope you get rid of that sore throat. How about a hot toddy? I don't think I'd expect capers in a small store, but what do you use them in?
ReplyDeleteJudy--I serve smoked salmon with cream cheese, diced onions and some capers. I also make a red sauce for pasta which includes capers. I love the taste of them--salty and pickle like.
DeleteI just had to deal with the sore throat thing so I started myself on Zinc and Echinacea, gargled with warm salt water too. Hope you feel better real soon.
ReplyDeleteFor a second, I thought this might be the start of another "Home Alone" story:)
ReplyDeleteI will be curious to get your feedback on the iPad. I can understand why you are anxious to get your hands on it. Soon.....very soon!
ReplyDeleteGood plan to move the bus house down before the impending storm.
Capers are a necessity in our home on wheels! And you reminded me that we are out.
ReplyDeleteWe had a similar experience at an IGA in north-central Idaho. I always gauge a grocery by the availability of arugula. Sometimes I just gotta have it.
ReplyDeleteHope you can head off that cold!!! We have a little gas station store down at the corner. Years ago it had everything One brand, one size, the only decision to make was do I want to pay the price, Since then it has gone down hill. Just a month ago it had been taken over by new management....we'll see how that goes..............
ReplyDeleteHope you are feeling better:) I was thrilled that we both made it through the cruise without getting sick!!!
ReplyDeleteI think I would like to settle some day in a small town such as Torrey, Utah. But the grocery store thing will be so hard. I really need fresh produce. Oh, well, I have lots of time to make that decision.
