A gale force wind with 40mph gusts sure reeked havoc on our fuel mileage yesterday!! We rolled out of the RV park about 9am and arrived at our destination, a park near Houston around 12:30pm. What a magnificent park!!! An absolute jewel and it certainly doesn’t hurt that the campground is almost empty this time of week and year!!! Miles of hiking trails, lakes, alligators—did I mention alligators???
See that black spot to Michael’s right—alligator—see where Emmi is—in Dad’s arms!!! Same alligator in this lower photo telling us not to come any closer!!
It is so lush and green, sites are huge with lots of green grass between each one, Ms. Emmi has chased a ball until she is exhausted!
Last evening we took a mile long hike around one of the lakes and saw three alligators, scores of birds and beautiful scenery. It is also so incredibly quiet, no traffic, no people, blissfully quiet.
After a fabulous quiet night of sleep we headed into the big city of Houston this morning for my first vein procedure. Great doctor, great staff, a little bit of ouch and I was done with instructions to walk as much as I wanted. Plus I was to wear this absolutely gorgeous thigh high stocking even in the shower! Tomorrow I go back for leg two.
Life is good, very good!
I wonder if it's the same kind of stockings I had to wear after surgery? They are a bear to get off and on. Enjoy the green. The cold and high winds have moved on here to Georgia.
ReplyDeleteMay I just emphasize your line...."It is also so incredibly quiet, no traffic, no people, blissfully quiet". Now how great is that in the grand scheme of things. One leg down & one to go. I am surprised at how quick they did that & no major pain stuff. Of course women seem to tolerate pain much better than men so maybe that was it. D'ya think:))
ReplyDeleteThose pictures look like Brazos Bend State Park. It is one very unique and fascinating place. I haven't had the opportunity to camp there, but have hiked it 5 or 6 times. Always a new adventure.
ReplyDeleteGoodness, is it ever GREEN there!!
ReplyDeleteWhat??? No picture of the leg in the stocking??? Glad it went so well for you. Even be better when it's all over. I'm not sure I'd want to be that close to that alligator and it's a good thing Emmi is way up high out of reach.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear that all went well ! Soon you will have no leg problems. Be glad that you don't have to wear those stockings forever. I had a blood clot in my leg after back surgery and as a result have to wear a compression stocking forever. Fortunately, my husband puts it on for me - I never would be able to get it on by myself.
ReplyDeleteGreat to hear leg one was a sucess. That really surprised me about limitless walking, sure is amazing what can be done now medically. Sure leg two will be just as successful.

ReplyDeleteWhat a great park! How luck you found one almost empty. Our park is packed with families on Spring Break. Not quiet here in Utah. I love the alligators but watch that dog.
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear your first leg procedure went well. Hoping tomorrow's is as successful. Thinking of you.
Nice RV park! Do they feed the alligators? Based on your photos, they do not appear to be aggressive.
ReplyDeleteGood news on the surgery front. We hope the balance of the procedures go as well as the first.
Glad to hear the surgery went well. Good luck with the second leg. I guess you won't be letting Emmi off leash on those walks with all the gators around.
ReplyDeleteGlad your surgery went well. Hope all is going well today also!!! Oh, gators...... I'd be terrified!!
ReplyDeleteThat RV park looks like a fabulous place to stay. Like everyone else I have to say, "Be very careful of Emmi." Even on a leash, she would be at risk. Keep a sharp eye out at all times!
