A Busy, Busy Day

Gina and I headed out early this morning leaving Michael and Rollie to make jambalaya while we were gone.  Really we left Rollie to make jambalaya and Michael to supervise cause as we all know, Michael doesn’t cook!

Shopping was on the ladies’ agenda today.  We hit the craft stores—Hobby Lobby and Hancock’s searching for quilt fabrics and notions for Gina.  Made a stop at Coffee Call for sustenance for continued shopping—beignets and coffee—then off to DSW, the coolest shoe store, huge shoe store.  Wal Mart was our last stop and it was a zoo.  I think everyone who wasn’t working today was in that store!

We came home to find things smelling very good around Gina and Rollie’s house.  Dana and Rickey joined us for dinner and football, watching the Oregon Ducks beat Wisconsin.

It was a much cooler/lower humidity day here in Louisiana, Gina was bringing plants in off the deck in anticipation of a freeze tonight.  I hope her flower beds don’t get frosted too much—the beds are beautiful—blooming flowers in January, amazing!IMG_1553IMG_1554

Gina purchased my older Pfaff sewing machine from me.  As she is quite vertically challenged, she is always having to pay to have altered almost any pair of jeans she purchases.  Well, today she learned how to hem jeans—she is very excited!

Once again it has been such a great time spent here with friends, words can’t describe this unexpected friendship we have developed with Gina and Rollie—they are more like family than friends!  Tomorrow we say “see you later” and start our journey toward Florida.  Tomorrow night we are stopping in to visit some more friends—stay tuned!

  3. I love the seasons in the north, but when I see blooms and gardens in the south, I am jealous. Please tell Gina I enjoyed the pictures of her gardens.
