Whew, quilt retreats are a lot of work. Shirley and I arrived back on the East Boulder about 3pm. We had an incredible time and accomplished lots but it wasn’t all work and no play. Jeane and Barb disappeared for a long time Friday afternoon and the rest of us had our suspicions and we were right. Barb and Jeane planned a 60’s party for us—they toured the Red Lodge, MT thrift stores acquiring their attire—tight sweaters, sneakers, bobbie socks and scarves.
We were all gifted with our own 60’s style eye glasses and scarves. Even our cook, Terry got into the act making her own poodle skirt! Barb and her husband Dale own a turntable and a huge number of records so we even had the music!!!!
We had so much fun and as usual the food Terry prepared was outstanding! We even had root beer floats for dessert!!
Here are some of the quilts that were crafted this weekend.
We eleven women just had the best of times—good friends, lots of sewing with great food and wine thrown in—what could be better!!
You Sure look like you had a great weekend Janna. Beautiful work done by you ladies.
ReplyDeleteI am just trying to stay out of the 90 degreee heat down here YUCK.
Take Care

I am reading your blog with a different bent lately. I finally got a sewing machine, a Bernina, and plan to start with something simple like a small wall hanging. I have never quilted before so we will see how it goes. Sure did look like a lot of fun for you!
ReplyDeleteLove the 60's outfits. I know that was a lot of fun. Lots of memories in the 60's for me. The quilts are beautiful. Wish I had just a little bit of your quilting talent. We're leaving Florida today heading west. Hope to be back at North Ranch by Thanksgiving. When are you guys heading south? We're going to miss you in AZ this Winter....Hugs.....
ReplyDeleteLooks like there was a lot of fun going on there, as well as work.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great weekend - Paulette would have loved that!
ReplyDeleteHowdy Janna,
ReplyDeleteMike sez hez glad you're home!!!!!
Looks like y'all did a lotta talkin
to get so much accomplished.. The
quilters down here are BEGGING for
women to come and quilt with them;
there are 4 circles/bees and a long
ways from each other so they can't
go from one to the other. Itz really sad, because there are no 'youngunz' in ANY of the groups..
