Last Day Of Fun

We all had breakfast on the deck then Michael and I took a nice walk with the Emmi girl.  As this was our last day with our special friends Michael decided we should take a top down jeep drive again.

Just up the road from us is an old logging road where we cut firewood every fall.  The drive and the view are spectacular so off we went.  It was a very warm morning with the top down on the jeep—very warm!

Many years ago a couple from Houston, Janet and Joseph, purchased 160 acres up the road from us.  Michael restored a little log cabin on their property and we became good friends.  Joseph and I share the same birthday.  They have busy lives and come visit their Montana place as often as they can—as we drove by today we noticed their gate was open.  It was so good to see them and Rollie and Gina enjoyed seeing their place right along the East Boulder River.

After our drive we ate a light lunch as a huge dinner was on the agenda!  Gina and I spent the afternoon hanging out in the quilt studio.  The guys looked at the back of their eyelids for a while before heading out to retrieve the tractor and baler from the shed.

Steaks on the grill, baked potatoes, green beans and Gina’s cheese bread—yep, a huge dinner and every bite of it was delicious.  We also enjoyed a wonderful bottle of wine Geoff and Nancy brought here about two years ago as a hostess gift—it too was delicious!!  We dined outside on the deck in the middle of a beginning thunderstorm—what a great evening.  Once dinner settled we sampled the chocolate ice cream I had made.  After all that the guys again looked at the back of their eyelids while Gina and I sat here visiting and sewing.

Today was our last day with Gina and Rollie—it was been a fantastic visit and we are so glad they came to see us.
